The excessively large angle of the wire rope increases the wear of the wire rope and the rim of the crown wheel, so that the wire rope can not be entangled properly on the drum, resulting in a "biting rope" phenomenon. The "Procedure" stipulates that the maximum internal angle cannot exceed 1°30', which is a minimum requirement. Some data suggest that for multi-layer winding, the internal yaw angle is better at 1°10′.

To solve the phenomenon of biting rope, when making the foundation of the winch, it is necessary to control the distance between the foundation and the derrick, and calculate the deviation angle of the rope is not more than 1°30′; when installing the winch, ensure the level of the main shaft and the center line and lifting center of the winch spindle. The line is vertical. In use, it is necessary to use wire ropes and other measures in accordance with the specified rope diameter to ensure that the rope is not bitten.

If there is a problem with the bite rope, it is necessary to check the processing from the above aspects. If the bite is not serious, it is generally the position of the moving roller without the coupling side, relying on the error compensation of the coupling to reduce the bite rope, or placing the guide wheel at the rope hole of the winch room, or increasing the swimming wheel, etc. Measures. If the wire rope cannot be entangled on the drum and the bite rope is severe, the winch needs to be reinstalled.
